Abstract: In this article, the problem of oil production intensification, the steady decline in oil production and the effect of water shear rate on oil were considered. At the same time, the layers differ from each other in reservoir properties and during their joint development, a uniform shift of oil across the field is not ensured, which leads to the formation of residual oil in permeable layers and zones and the formation of hard-to-reach producing reserves. The introduction of large deposits of the former CIS into development by irrigation methods through the formation of multi-storey operation facilities has led to serious negative consequences, such as uneven production of reservoirs and a decrease in the oil production coefficient, an increase in the water-oil factor, service life, etc. The study of the results of the development of oil fields by irrigation methods abroad through the creation of multi-storey facilities also showed that the coverage of irrigation layers in thickness is very low, on average no more than 50%, minimum values of about 20% are sometimes even lower. A significant proportion of the pumped water enters separate narrow cutting intervals, which allows for the return of oil from these intervals in producing wells, followed by their rapid and intensive wetting.
